Did You Know … Charter Schools Serve 3.1 Million Students?

Did you know ... charter schools serve 3.1 million students?

Each year we look at the number of charter schools and estimate the number of students who attend them. Today, there are more than 3 million students enrolled in over 6,900 charter public schools. This means that over 200,000 more children are attending charter schools this school year than attended last year - and that in just the last decade, charter school enrollment has nearly tripled.

The growth of the charter school movement is driven by an parent demand for high-quality schools and the flexibility to select the school that is best for their child. As demand continues to grow, we expect the charter school growth to strive to meet it.
