For some school leaders, back to school means fulfilling a dream to better educate underserved students. Arizona is a state with nearly 550 public charter schools serving an estimated 180,000 students. The state’s strong charter law provides a fair amount of autonomy and accountability to its charter schools, has multiple authorizing entities, and has no cap on charter school growth - allowing innovators like Nick Schuerman to open Victory Collegiate Academy this school year.
